The Quick Settings menu on BlackBerry 10 is nothing new but it only really became fully functional when BlackBerry OS 10.2.1 dropped. There was still one thing that bothered many people -- you couldn't access it when you were in an app. You would have to minimize said app first the access it from the Homescreen. Though Quick Settings can also be accessed whilst in the Hub, many folk have been requesting the ability access it from anywhere.

If you've been frustrated at the fact the BBOS feature of filing your sent messages isn't available on BlackBerry 10, you won't have to wait too much longer for it to return. In another sneak peek from Michael Clewley it was noted the highly requested feature will be making its way into BlackBerry OS 10.3. It's a small thing but one many folks sorely miss from BBOS so it's good to see it's coming back. Not following Michael Clewley's BBM Channel (C00014277) yet? No time like the present to subscribe.

Sticking with the Calendar app theme today, Michael Clewley has shared a couple of more treats for us from his BBM Channel. One of which I have been wanting for a while, the other, also a most welcome feature. The option 'Add Task' from the Calendar is finally here. Well, not yet 'here' exactly but it's coming. We'll also be seeing a feature called Meeting Mode. This is basically an option you can turn on which then gives you the ability to set a Notification Profile for the duration of that meeting.

In the last BlackBerry OS 10.3 teaser for today, Michael Clewley tells a bit about updates to the Remember app. I mainly use the Remember app to list tasks, so this piece of news is great for me. In BlackBerry OS 10.3, the Remember app will consist of two tabs - Tasks and Notes. Making it easier to go through your Remember entries. You can then set which one will be your default view. So, if you're like me, you'll probably want the Tasks tab set as default.

Well, you've been teased and tortured with a plethora of images and even video but now OS 10.3.0.296 has leaked. At this point, some of the stuff we've seen teased is in the OS and some of it is not, you'll just have to go through it all to find out what's there and what's not. Also of note, it's not available for all devices but if you have a BlackBerry Z10 STL100-3 then you can go ahead and give it a go and I'm sure some autoloaders will get made for other devices eventually.

The BlackBerry 10.3 SDK Beta is now available for developers to get updating their BB10 apps. We've already been through some of the features the SDK promises to offer, but the major takeway is that the Adobe Air runtime will be retired. Beyond software, BlackBerry confirmed there is a simulator included for an upcoming device with a 1440 x 1440 square screen, which sounds an awful lot like the Windermere. BlackBerry's Tim Neil also confirmed that we'll see a BlackBerry Classic device this year running 10.3.1, so devs can get started optimizing now, even though there's going to be another SDK release for that software.

In case you missed the fine print in today's earlier post about the OS 10.3 SDK, there were a few things that should be noted to clear up any confusion. While we all anxiously await the arrival of OS 10.3 and all that comes along with it, we won't be seeing it for a few more months still — but it won't be limited to just new BlackBerry devices.

Leaked: OS 10.2.1.3247 for most BlackBerry 10 smartphones

If you've been gone digging through the CrackBerry Forums then you know the rumored, next official release noted is 10.2.1.3247 and it's supposedly in the hands of carriers for testing right now. Rather than waiting for carriers to push it out though, you can grab the autoloaders right now for most BlackBerry 10 devices. So, what devices are the list working list?

The BlackBerry Q5, Q10 along with the BlackBerry Z30 and Z3. The only exception here is the BlackBerry Z10. Unlike a lot of other leaks where the STL100-1 is excluded, this release sees STL100-1 as the only Z10 version supported. Someone can likely build an autoloader for all other Z10 versions but for now, STL100-1 only.

As always, be sure to perform a full backup using BlackBerry Link before you install any OS. Check out our full tutorial on using an autoloader here and don't hold us responsible should anything go bad — though you can always reload your OS. If you want to know what has changed, what's new then head on into the CrackBerry Forums and discuss it some more.

The majority of users can't wait for the BlackBerry Assistant

A few days ago we ran a poll asking how excited you are for the BlackBerry Assistant that we'll get when BlackBerry 10.3 gets released into the wild and also comes pre-installed on the BlackBerry Passport.

To be honest, I wasn't quite sure which way this one would swing. I know that iOS and Android users have been rocking Siri and Google Now for some time - and Windows Phone has just got there own assistant with Cortana, but traditionally us BlackBerry users are workhorses with our thumbs.
